Love Me, Love Me Not
Performative Photography Installation, Aluminum Sheet, Angle Bracket, Bearing, Aluminum Rod, Bleeder Key, UV Print, 2023
The act of plucking daisy petals resembles a childhood fortune-telling game.
"Love me, love me not." Though this question, asked while pulling the petals off a daisy, may seem like an innocent game, it ultimately questions the individual's relationship with themselves and the outside world. The gradual removal of the petals carries both a sense of naivety and destruction. It becomes a physical manifestation of both revealing oneself and being ignored. Plucking daisy petals evokes the idea of sacrificing a part of oneself in the hope of love or acceptance. Here, the question is not only about another’s love but also about self-love and self-acceptance.
